Did you have preeclampsia when pregnant and if so what was your Dr.'s orders?

We went to the dr. and I had protein in my urine,Im going back in Friday to be checked again but after reading its more severe than my Dr. let on to be. How concerned should I be and what did your Dr. say if you had it. Were you induced? did you go on bedrest? What should I expect? What else causes preeclampsia?
