60" plasma 720p/1080i for $1,999... Did I do the right thing?

It's 2nd tier, so it's not Sony or Panasonic, but it's also not 3rd tier, like Viewamatic or Konichiwatch. 7000:1 contrast ratio, good reviews by c-net and others, and no issues watsoever with the clarity of it's display , so... what I guess I'm asking is; Should I pay *more* money for a *smaller* tv thats capable of 1080p? (I'm also not so concerned about the lifespan of the tv in yrs since some better technology will probably come out by the time I'm done with my question. I am mostly concerned about a breathtaking home theater experience.) Thanks ahead for you thoughts.
