Stupid question...but please help!?

Does anyone have the Oregon trail 5th edition? I know the game is old...but any time i try to play my cp crashes and completly shuts off! Help please!I have windows XP...I played Oregon Trail (the original) and it worked...put when i tried to install the 3rd edition it just closed but didnt shut off....Now i want to play the 5th edition but now luck...thanks for the help!
